Clinics & Services
To accommodate the evolving needs of our patients, we now hold a number of regular Arthritis Clinics.
Urgent Arthritis Clinic
Patients with any acute, painful and swollen joints, not associated with trauma are assessed and treated in this Clinic. By attending us directly, we believe this should help significantly speed up the diagnosis and treatment for our patients, alleviate their discomfort and save them time and money.
Early Arthritis Clinic
This Clinic is set up for patients with Early Inflammatory Arthritis such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Reactive Arthritis Ankylosing Spondylitis etc. Early referral to a Rheumatologist leads to better clinical outcomes for patients.
General Arthritis Clinic
All patients with other rheumatic conditions are seen in this Clinic. Depending on the clinical manifestations some patients may need to be seen urgently.
Microscopic (Polarized) analysis of aspirated joint fluid in the Clinic providing instant diagnosis for patients with acute inflammatory arthritis and crystal arthritis such as Gout and CPPD arthropathy.
Mantaux testing is also provided. this testing for Tuberculosis involves the use of tuberculin test. the results are read 48-72 hours after the test is performed.
Joint Aspiration and injections may be needed in the overall treatment of our patients. These include local anaesthetic, Steroid injections, Hyaluronic acid injections, PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections.
We facilitate early treatment with the administration of joint injections during the consultation period when possible in order to lessen inconvenience to our patients.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) This is a new treatment available to patients with Rheumatological or soft tissue injuries. the technique uses the patient's own blood to extract the platelets with repair and growth factors. PRP is then injected to the affected tissue or joint to facilitate repair, healing and speedy recovery.
Ultrasound Clinic: we will shortly introduce this clinic to provide us with more on the spot information to help in the diagnosis and treatment of our patients including its use in joint aspiration and injection.
